The Best Baked Baileys Brioche French Toast

This is one of the best baked brioche french toast dishes you will find. It is easy and can be made ahead of time so it is perfect for the busy holiday season. Whip up the French toast recipe, refrigerate overnight, and the next morning all you need to do is pop it in the oven. 

This is a big crowd-pleaser, perfect for entertaining a group at Christmas. The Baileys whipped cream is our best-kept secret and once you try it you will want to try it on everything. We enjoy it in a baileys coffee or hot chocolate.


  • Loaf of sweet bread. We chose the MMM Family Bakery Chalka Maslana
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Double Cream
  • 1/4 cup Baileys
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar – divide in 2
  • 1/2 cup melted  Butter
  • 5 eggs

Baileys Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup double cream
  • 1/4 cup Baileys
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar


  • Grease a baking dish and pour in melted butter. 
  • Sprinkle in half the brown sugar and mix
  • Cut the bread into small cubes and layer it evenly on top of butter and sugar mix
  • Mix milk, Baileys, cream and eggs in a bowl.
  • Pour evenly over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 
  • The next morning preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Cover the dish in tin foil and put it in the oven for 30 mins. 
  • Take tin foil off and put it into the oven for a further 10 minutes. 
  • To make the Baileys whipped cream: whip the cream, baileys, and powdered sugar together until you have a soft, thick consistency. This will last in the fridge for 3 days, covered. 
  • Serve the french toast hot with a scoop of cold whipped cream on top.
